Everest 3 High Passes Trek
Trip Facts
Trip Introduction:
Everest Three High Passes Trek is one of Nepal’s most popular treks. It is also a challenging trek that takes you over some of the highest mountain passes in the Everest region. This trek is suitable for those serious trekkers who love challenge. We cross three most popular Everest high passes above 5000m without any technical climbing.
While heading towards upper Khumbu, we climb through three highest and most scenic passes. They are namely Kongmala Pass (5535m), Cho La pass (5368m), and Renjo La Pass (5,345m). The trek covers major towns, villages and plaecs in the Everest region. These include Namche, Tyangboche Monastery, Everest base camp and Gokyo Lake. During the trek you will enjoy the awe-inspiring Himalayan mountain views, towering peaks and picturesque villages. Also opportunities to visit Buddhist monasteries, Sherpa museum etc. are along the trail. This trek is truly an unforgettable experience for any trekker.
We have designed the trek itinerary in such a way that a hiker gets better acclimatized and pleasant walk if s/he begins trek from east to west. It means we begin from Lukla, the entry gate of the Everest region, walk through Dingboche, then Chhukung, crossing the 5,535m Kongma La Pass (the hardest of the 3 passes) to Lobuche. From Lobuche we continue trek to Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, crossing the 5368m Cho La Pass to Gokyo, and finally from Gokyo cross over the 5,345m Renjo La Pass down to Thame, Namche Bazaar and finally get back to Lukla, from where we take flight to Kathmandu..
Everest Three High Passes trek is rather hard, but people who prefer to do it must be in physically fit shape and have some experience.
