Gasherbrum II Summit
Trip Facts
Trip Information:
Gasherbrum II Expedition (also known as K4) is the 13th highest mountain and one of the popular 8,000m peaks in the world at 8,035 meters (26,362 ft) above sea level. It is the third-highest peak of the Gasherbrum massif and is located in the Karakoram range, on the border between Gilgit–Baltistan province, Pakistan, and Xinjiang, China. This is a difficult mountain slightly harder than Mt. Cho Oyu but relatively one of the up-front and climbable peaks. .However, it is an ideal training peak for Everest. The climbing on Gasherbrum 2 is not especially steep but the remoteness of the setting makes this an especially rewarding experience.
Gasherbrum II Expedition: the climbig route
The route that we follow for Gasherbrum II expedition is via the SW ridge. This route is relatively free of any dangers. Nonetheless, history shows more than a few climbers have perished on this route due to inclement weather condition. If you want to climb Gasherbrum II, you need to be outstandingly fit. You also eed to have a fierce determination, and an ability to deal with 'expedition downtime. This means you need to be used to boredom, apathy, lethargy, and cold lonely nights on the glacier.
Himalayan Global Expedition guides have in-depth experience leading expeditions to different 8000-meter mountains in Nepal, Pakistan, and China. Our Pakistani logistics counterparts have worked in the expeditions for over a decade. They have proved themselves as one of the best logistic organizers and expedition management teams in the business. We provide a chef, climbing Sherpa guide from Nepal. We also use Pakistani high altitude porters who have years of experience on the high 8000-meter mountains. Our staff works very hard to fix ropes, reserve camps and assist our team in reaching the summit safely. We will employ a full cooking staff that specializes in healthy, abundant and tasty meals at the base camp and advanced base camp.
