Trip Introduction:
Tamang Heritage Trail is a newly- introduced community-based trek in the Langtang region. Thus this trek offers great opportunities for trekkers to experience Tamang culture. In addition, we get to see and experience the traditional lifestyle of the local community, festivals and unique Syabru dance. Above all, the highlight of the trek is that trekkers immerse themselves in the hospitality of the Tamang communities.
Tamang Heritage Trail: an ethnic route
We start our journey with an eight-hour drive from Kathmandu. Head to Syabru Besi towards the north. Early morning next day, we start the trek through some truly breathtaking scenery. This includes terraced paddy fields, beautiful Tamang villages, and serene valleys. In spring (March- April) one can enjoy the sights of rhododendron flowers in full bloom along the trail. Deeply rooted Tibetan cultures are prevalent in the Langtang region. Mainly because many of the inhabitants of this region migrated from Tibet many years ago and changed their surname to Tamang. As a result, they now hold Nepalese citizenship and are very much integrated into Nepal. On the way, there is a beautiful view-point at Nagthali pass from where the Langtang Himalayan range and Kerung( Nepal- Tibet border) are visible.
A memorable aspect of the trek is that we can explore the historical fort at Rasuwagadhi and share the experiences with the local family at Bridding village while staying as their guests. Natural hot spring at Tatopani soothes the tiredness of the trek away. Only wonderful memories and experiences remain.
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel
Day 02 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi (1,462m)
Day 03 Trek from Syabrubeshi to Gatlang (2,238m)
Day 04 Trek Gatlang to Tatopani (2,380m)
Day 05 Trek from Tatopani to Nagthali (3,165m) and trek to Thuman (2,238 m)
Day 06 Trek Thuman to Briddim (2,239m)
Day 07 Trek Briddim to Syabru Beshi (1,462m)
Day 08 Drive from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel, Farewell Dinner
Day 09 Transfer to the Airport for Final Departure
